We reminded Aussies that if there's one trip that's bound to make it out of the group chat, it's the one on their front doorstep. The Cannes Young Lions 2023 film brief from TikTok and Virgin airlines was simple — promote domestic travel in Australia by getting people to trade in their Europe trips for the ones in our backyard. So we zeroed in on the ease of a domestic trip, because​ trying to organise an overseas holiday with mates often goes a little like this…

“Hotel or hostel?”

“Already been there”

“Not my budget”

“Visa???"

“Date’s don’t work!”

“Updating my passport”

“But we can’t go to the beach everyday!”

“What about the bed bugs?”

Our answer was to use the POV trend and speak as two different holidays – one that made it out of the group chat, and one that didn’t. And TikTok liked it. A lot. Enough to get us through to the next round, where we were flown to Sydney to participate in an epic, 48hr intensive brief against the other Aussie teams who were selected.
